Real Weddings: Sandy & Alex 6.19.09

I've been waiting for pictures from this funky wedding I did in June of 2009 - almost a year ago. Wow, how time flies! This wedding got a small feature in Seattle Bride Magazine last year as well. I happened to stumble upon it while looking at the newest issue. Quite a pleasant surprise.

I was so happy to see these shots come through on my email this morning that I had to share. Thank you Melody with Amore Studios for providing photos.

The ceremony took place at The Bell Harbor Conference Center on the rooftop. The weather was sketchy that day, but the Bride said rain or shine I'm getting married outside! I think it drizzled a little bit, but not enough to cry about.

I loved the trios of bright yellow pomanders, it really brightened up the grey building and day.

The Altar arrangements were a fresh combination of Blue, White & Yellow with Gladiolus, Curly Willow, Hydrangea, Roses and Alstromeria sitting in White Urns on top of White Columns. Classic!

The Bride carried a simple bouquet of Blue Hydrangeas and Stars off Bethlehem

The silly Bridesmaids carried stems of Blue Hydrangea. Simple!

The centerpieces at the Reception, which took place at Shilshole Bay Beach Club in Ballard were a natural design of Manzanita Branches planted in vases filled with natural pebbles and accented with hanging crystals.

After the ceremony, the cute yellow pomanders were transferred and hung from the Manzanita branches. A great way to re-use ceremony pieces in the reception decor and save money.

Such a cute wedding and a fun couple to work with. Congrats Sandy & Alex - it's almost your year anniversary.

Real Weddings: Erica & Nick 9.5.09

I absolutely adore this vibrant red bouquet froom Erica & Nicks wedding at The Canal.

We designed it with Dahlias, Mini Calla Lilies, Zinnias and Roses with an addition of a little seasonal strawflower looking thing that I can't recall the name of.

The Bridesmaids carried all white bouquets of Dahlias, Roses and Mini Calla Lilies, to contrast against their dresses.
Mini Calla Lily boutonnieres - so simple and chic!
Looks like they had fun!
Thank you Red Fish Blue Fish Photography for the photos!

Real Weddings: 3.20.10 Amanda & Andre

Amanda and Andre were married March 20th, 2010 at The Pickering Barn in Issaquah. It turned out to be a gorgeous sunny day for the wonderful couple. Andre is the nephew of a wedding coordinator I've had the oppportunity to work with a few times, she's fantastic: Claudine Ursino, La Belle Soiree Event Planning.

Amanda chose a color palette of Teal, White and Chocolate Brown. The bouquets were designed in all shades of white and cream with some small accents of green. We used Peonies, Hydrangea, Freesia and Roses tied with satin ribbon.
We created an Altar with Birch Branches hanging crystals and candlelight for additional ambiance.

Thank you to Jenn Repp Photography for amazing photographs!

WNUSA

Last month's Wedding Network USA meeting was at the beautiful Cedarbrook Lodge. You'd never know that this slice of heaven is set right off the airports path in Sea-Tac. It's fabulous with acres and acres of land they have it all. Rustic meeting and event spaces for Corporate and Social Events. Gorgeous outdoor Wedding Space for ceremonies. Delicious catering that has started to grow their own vegetables and herbs on site and plenty of modern styled rooms with big 'ol bath tubs. Heaven!

Check it out for your event or even just to stay a night before leaving for a trip. You don't hear the airport at all it's so secluded!

We had the privilege of doing floral decor for the meeting. We were really happy how the simple design accented the space and used our natural and "green" principles.

Half of the tables had a simple scape of square glass vases filled with crystal gel and accented with Purple Mokara Orchids and candles. We scattered crystals on the table for added sparkle.

The other tables were decorated with a tall glass vase filled with water and using our rental Manzanita branches we strung crystals with Purple Mokara Orchids and hanging candles from them. We also added some loose crystals to the base of the arrangements to continue to sparkle effect. It all simply transformed the room.

Thank you to Sean Hoyt Photography for the fantastic images!

Here's me having a little too much fun! I won the grand prize that evening for filling out my entire Wedding Bingo card. A night's stay at Cedarbrook with a restaurant gift certificate. Can't wait for my husband and I to use it. Good shot Sean!

The Sole Repair Shop Open House

We were so graciously asked to do floral decor for The Sole Repair Shop's Open House 4.18.10. It's a swanky eco-chic venue in Capitol Hill. Quinn's Pub provides the food and you provide the rest! I was delighted to take part with Chesney Schmidt with All the Flutter and Amy Vallejo with Anticipate Weddings & Events among all the other wonderful vendors that showcased their work.

Here's a few shots from the showcase provided by Natalie G Photography.

We created these eco-chic fence board design pieces for the space. Since the space has many natural and re-usable elements in it's building design we decided to play off that when deciding on floral decor. We attached some glass pieces to the fenceboard and did some simple and modern floral designs with a pop color to stand out against the rustic board. It was a great entry piece!

You can't quite see the details in these photos because the event is in full swing, but we hung small vases from silver wire all along that back wall along with votive candles. The little vases contained bright blooms of Yellow Cymbidium Orchids. It was simple, but stunning against that re-used wood panel back drop.

Along the window space we did small trios of white ceramic vases containing Daffodils, Hala and September flower. A simple and bold design to accent the space.

We also did a great piece for the coffee table that unfortunately we didn't get a shot of. But we re-used food cans in a collection of 6 tied together with satin ribbon to add elegance. The cans contained simple bundles of Tulips, Daffodills and September Flower all in a bright yellow color palette.

This Bridal bouquete accented our vendor table. It was designed with Daffodils, Tulips, Asiatic Lilies, September Flowers, Button Mums, Roses and Lilac all in a fresh and sunny color palette with an accent of lime green. Refreshing!

Thanks again to all who were involved. We had a blast doing the decor and meeting lots of new vendors.

Flights of Fancy by Azzura Photography

Sometime in 2009 we were asked to provide a few floral bouquets for a photo shoot by Azzura Photography. We are always just thrilled to work with the dynamic duo Tania and Ken of Azzura Photography, so we jumped at the chance. Plus, it's always fun to be creative without parameters.

We just love these photos - so urban and chic! But we love the flowers more! Of course we do, it's what we love and do! Love, love, love the deep red tones paired with the champagne pale tones and then accented with rustic browns in the scabiosa pods and feathers.

It looks fabulous with all those ruffles!

This softer bouquet is also a "love"! Velvety Lamb's Ear, Lissianthus, Feathers and the juxtaposition of the spikey green Thistle are just delightful. Love the dress and red sash too.

This was a unique bouquet with Green Goddess Calla Lilies, Lissianthus, Scabiosa Pods, Vendella Spray Roses, Lamb's Ear and feathered wheat. Pared with a bold and bright tiffany blue satin.

Never get tired of simple Roses tied together. So sweet!

Thank you Tania with Azzura Photography for creating such a fabulous photo shoot. Beautiful dresses, modern photo techniques and backdrops and beautiful blooms.
