Real Weddings: Caitlin & Dan 9.6.09

I had the opportunity to work with a fantastic wedding coordinator, Shannon Lassen of Sublime Events this summer for this spectacular wedding at The Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle.

The event was ultra chic with oh so many details. The color palette was yellow, white, gray and black and we hit this one out of the park with our designs.

Simple, modern and truly chic!

Caitlin carried a simple bouquet of White Hydrangea, White Roses and pops of sunshine Yellow Spray Roses and Ranunculus.

The centerpieces were a delightful collection of White Hydrangea, White Roses, Yellow Kangaroo Paw, Yellow Button Mums, Yellow Ranunculus, Yellow Craspedia with accents of Geranium leaves and wrapped Black Tea Leaves in the square glass vases.

The fantastic linens were provided by La Tavola. Check them out!

Love, love, love the poppy colors and texture of these designs.

We also created small cocktail table centerpieces of Succulents and Yellow Craspedia. So adorable!

We didn't have anything to do with this cake, but I just couldn't resist including it because it is so darn cute!

Thank you to Laurel McConnell Photography for blogging all these fantastic images. You rock!

Real Weddings: Jenny + Kelly

Jenny was a joy to work with. She was referred to me by her sister Kristy who was married in March 2009. Her and Kelly were having a small intimate affair held at The Canlis Restaurant in Seattle.

Her decor vision was clean, fresh and simple. I absolutely loved her bouquet. We created a gathering of Garden Roses, Hydrangea, Hypericum Berry and Green Dendrobium Orchid blooms with purple throats.

It smelled fantastic and looked amazing. What a wonderful combination to compliment a gorgeous bride!

Love the photos by Ethan Kim Photography. He has a true artistic style, very modern and unique. I just love his photos. Check out his full body of work here!

Love the close-up. You can really see the texture on the Garden Roses.

Jenny requested bulk Orchid blooms to add to the table for her simple decor look.

I've never seen a corsage look so good. Ethan really captured the beautiful design elements of the corsages. It looks like a mini Ikebana arrangements. I love it.

Thank you Ethan Kim Photography for the fantastic photos. I love your work!

January Nace Meeting: 2010 Wedding Trends

Last night was the first NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) Meeting of the year.
Hosted by the Columbia Tower Club.
NACE is a wonderful networking group of event professionals that I am happy to be a part of.

The event was 2010 Wedding Trends and our speaker Lynne DeLuca was a pleasure.
Check out her website for her free newsletter and other great stuff.

We were asked among 7 other design companies to do a table for the event. The theme for our table was "Rustic Elegance."
My goal was to blend the trend of rustic, natural, organic and woodsy with chic, elegant and modern. Being 2010 brides are more econonimally savvy as well as conscious of their eco-footprint while planning a wedding I used only filler, greenery and curly willow sticks. This keep the cost down on the arrangement, but doesn't sacrific drama. The crystals added elegance and sophistication to the piece.

There was a subtle accent of white Dendrobium Orchids and Mini Green Cymbidium Orchids accented on among the branches.

The Crystals and the beautiful Fleur de Lis Votive Holders were provided by Chic Celebrations.

To continue with the natural elements, we created napkin rings out of strips of birch and accented them with orchids. A few of the votive holders were also accented with birch to keep with the theme.
Choice Linens provided the table linen, napkins and chargers.

Here's a glimpse of the other tables presented that night by the other decor companies:

It was an outstanding event. I was thrilled to be a part of it. Thank you to all who participated
